The pituitary gland is divided into two parts, front (anterior) and back (posterior). The anterior part produces several types of important hormones like TSH (Thyroid-stimulating hormone).
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) stimulates the Thyroid gland to produce Triiodothyronine (T3) and Thyroxine (T4).
So the Thyroxine (T4) is not a Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), but the Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) is the main cause of producing of Thyroxine (T4) hormones.
