Sarpasan (Cobra pose)

Exercise : Lie on the asan by the stomach,keep both hand by the side and foot parallel gradually up the head,shoulder and half of body’s portion,but do not up the stomach, keep the eyes open and looking up,while the rest of the body remain on the asan. Hold this position 1-2 minute come down, repeat this exercise 4 to 6 times.

This nice flexible asan is called Sarpasan or Bhujangasan (cobra pose).

Benefit : Sarpasan is a yoga gift for reducing the obesity,is very good for feet,neck, breast/chest,arms,waist and all the body,it helps gently open the joints likes,ankle, knee,waist,elbow,shoulder,stay away all the rigidity energize the whole body.It must reduced excess fat which has accumulated in the waist,thigh,neck,breast/chest and other parts of body.

Due to fine exercise of the spine in this asan,makes the spine straight,quite elastic and strengthens the nervous system,elasticity of the spine keeps the yogabhayasi (aspirant) powerful and long living

In Sarpasan there makes a good pressure on the spine from one end to another end, thus activate medulla-oblongata,the key point between spinal column and the brain,just over the cervical vertebra and exercises each vertebra,sacral nerves.

Caution: It is not easy to lift the body for beginners so do not worry;be careful during performing this Sarpasan (cobra pose) regular practice can make success you. Do not perform without doctor’s advice if suffering from any major disease or serious spinal, neck, and brain complication, disorder or any surgery in pan abdomen area.
